Two teen-age daughters are often on hand to help with the cooking and serving; Cork and Jo also have a younger

NT: Hi Cindy! Thank you for interviewing with RRAH. Can you tell us a little about yourself? CG: I’m pretty boring, I’m afraid.  I love music, my family, our animals – hubby raises quarter horses and we have 2 house cats that pretty much run over us plus a Brittany spaniel, named Margaret who is absolutely adorable.  I like to read (of course) love to travel – some of my travel adventures include swimming with the giant manta rays in the Grand Caymans, hiking the Grand Canyon, white water raftin

ISLE ROYALE NATIONAL PARK - I have a habit of daydreaming over maps. When I open my Rand McNally to pages 54 and 55, I see not just the shape of Minnesota, but all of the places I’ve been and all of the places I’ve yet to explore. There may be a couple more yet, who knows? Like I said in my previous post, I live in central Minnesota (Up Nort, you betcha!). In fact, I have never lived more than 30 minutes from the hospital where I was born and wouldn’t have it any other way. (Sweet Home MINNESOTA, where the lakes are so blue…) For those of you who have never been…. no it doesn’t snow all year long here. We do have seasons (humidity season and windchill season; road construction season and snow plow season. And yes

If you’re looking for a hideaway that’s not all that far from home, check out Outside magazine’s October 2008 cover story, “Great Escapes 2008.” Click on a state on the interactive map for a destination. For instance, North Dakota takes you to Theodore Roosevelt National Park (left) as one of the top spots for long walks, while King of the Hill in Georgia rates as one of the best remote cabin locations. Here are the categories with a sampling of destinations for each: Deep Canyons Pleiades C
